Reviews

a pacy, hard-boiled tale...Strong on period detail, the story deftly blends police procedural with courtroom drama...a powerful debut.
— The Irish Times
The novel excels both as a police procedural and a legal procedural, where the author’s insights into trials makes for entertaining and gripping reading ... He has crafted a pacey, smartly-written, authentic crime novel-come legal drama.
— Irish Examiner
A brilliant crime thriller. It shimmers with authenticity.
— Irish Examiner
O’Higgins has drawn on his experiences as courtroom advocate and journalistic witness to lend depth and perspective to Snapshots, his debut novel. A gangland tale with elements of police procedural and legal thriller, the book is an impressive achievement, as rich in social observation as it is in narrative drive.
— The Sunday Times
Michael O’Higgins is a man of considerable talents ... Perhaps the ultimate accolade for authenticity is the description once given by the CIA of a book about its activities as “a novel but not fiction”. This gritty thriller about the Dublin crime scene in the 1980s is in this mould.
— Irish Independent
