Doreen Finn was born in Dublin. She studied English and Spanish in UCD and spent some time teaching in Madrid. She later lived for several years in Los Angeles, where she worked as a casting assistant, and would feature in the television show Unscripted directed by George Clooney – with whom she shared a beer in the fashionable Whiskey Bar. She now lives back in Dublin with her husband and two young children, and teaches English and Spanish in a girls’ secondary school. Previously, she contributed articles to the Sunday Tribune, and was included in From Newman to New Woman, a collection of writing by UCD graduates. She was shortlisted in the Irish Writers’ Centre Novel Fair. My Buried Life is her first novel.
