Christine Dwyer Hickey is a novelist and short story writer. Her first collection of short stories, The House on Parkgate Street and Other Dublin Stories (New Island 2013), is now available online and in all good bookshops!

Her previous novel The Cold Eye of Heaven (Atlantic Books UK 2011) won the Irish Novel of the Year 2012 and was nominated for the IMPAC 2013 award. It has recently been optioned by Newgrange Films. The Cold Eye of Heaven was serialised for RTE radio (read by actor Barry McGovern). Her novel Last Train from Liguria (Atlantic UK 2009) was nominated for the Prix L’Européen de Littérature. Her novel Tatty (New Island 2004 and Vintage 2005) was chosen as one of the 50 Irish Books of the Decade, nominated for the Orange Prize and shortlisted for the Hughes & Hughes Irish Novel of the Year Award. The Dublin Trilogy, The Dancer, The Gambler and The Gatemaker (1995-2000) received wide critical acclaim and The Dancer was shortlisted for Irish Novel of the Year in 1995. Christine’s novels have been widely translated.

She is a member of the Irish Arts Academy, Aosdana and is both a director and a literary advisor to Listowel Writers’ Week.
