A large crowd gathered in festive form at the National Concert Hall, this December 8th, for mulled wine and minced pies at the joint launch of New Island and Lyric FM's Quiet Quarter anthology and Lyric FM's new CD, John Finucane: Clarinet Variations.

The lunchtime event, following a concert by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, was well attended by music and literature lovers alike, including a good showing by contributors to the book. Dermot Bolger, whose work is anthologised in Quiet Quarter, launched the book, while Maire Nic Gearailt, the editor and presenter of Lyric Notes, also spoke.
