The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght was established in 1821 as Irelands first Children’s Hospital. Originally based in Harcourt Street the hospital moved to its new location in Tallaght in 1998. The National Children’s Hospital cares for over 65,000 babies, children and adolescents from all over Ireland. It is also a centre for extensive research into children’s health and related diseases and a major teaching resource for doctors and nurses wishing to specialise in paediatric care.
