Although best known as one of Ireland's leading novelists, Whitbread Award Winner Jennifer Johnston has, over many years, built a reputation as a playwright.

Selected Short Plays comprises four of Johnston's one-act plays: Moonlight and Music; Mustn't Forget High Noon; O Ananias, Azarias and Miseal (winner of the Giles Cooper Award for Best Radio Play, 1989); and The Nightingale and Not the Lark.
