Jennifer Johnston

Jennifer Johnston was born in 1930 and educated in Dublin. In 1951 she left Dublin and married Ian Smyth. She had four children, and began to write in 1964. Around twenty novels and some plays later, she now lives in Derry with her second husband, David Gilliland. She still writes, still wishes to write a good play and wishes still to write better novels.
